Producer Interference

Although I happen to be university-educated (through hard work and my folks’ financial generosity back in the day), my TV-watching habits are often anything but high-brow. So I watch stuff like Top Chef on Bravo.

This week, a worthy chef was eliminated in lieu of a lesser, more drama-prone contestant. My question: why? Isn’t cooking under less-than-ideal circumstances with a bunch of candidates who want to send you home not high-stakes enough?

I know I’m in the minority, but I hate the notion of losing a great talent just for the sake of shoring in ratings. In the long run, I don’t think it ever works.
